Who is it for?
THE BSC (British Safety Council) Level 1 Award in Health and Safety at Work is ideal for individuals working in any organisation at any level or even self-employed persons, and it aims to introduce them to basic Health and Safety standards and how they can best avoid incidents that can put them at risk of personal injury and material damage.
Is the qualification recognised?
This is a nationally recognized qualification which is accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) at Level 1 in the National Qualifications Framework.
How beneficial is this course?
The course is ideal for everyone because having the awareness of what can be dangerous for a person and others around him or her and how to eliminate and reduce those hazards has proven to have effectively reduced people taking time off from work due to unforeseen injuries and ill-health. It instils a clear sense of how to stay healthy and safe at work, and this automatically boosts the performance of a company in the long run. Also there is a misconception that Health and Safety is something relevant to construction workers or other manual labour and apparently risk-laden industries only, but in reality it is for each and every type of organization, including indoor office environments. This course also establishes a progression route to a choice of BSC Awards Level 2 qualifications in health and safety.
